  • Natural Gas Discovery: Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry, led by Hardeep Puri, announced the first discovery of natural gas in the Andaman Basin by Oil India Limited at the Vijayapuram Second well. India's import dependency for oil is 88% and for gas is 50%.

  • First Woman Director General of RPF: Sonali Mishra became the first woman Director General of the Railway Protection Force.
  • Indian Astronaut's Landing: Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian astronaut to visit the ISS (via Axiom-4 mission), successfully landed back on Earth. He was born in Lucknow.
  • Child Marriage Report: A report by 'Just Rights for Children' (Tipping Point 2.0) released in New York shows a 69% decline in child marriages among girls and a 72% decline among boys in India. Assam recorded the highest decrease (84%) in child marriages among girls. The Child Marriage Prohibition Act is from 2006, setting the minimum age for marriage at 21 for males and 18 for females.
