Aravalli Rocks and Origin of Life

  • Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, discovered chemical clues in Aravalli rocks in the Iswal area of Udaipur to understand the origin of life on Earth.
  • The Aravalli range is the world's oldest mountain range, formed in the Pre-Cambrian era.
  • It acts as a barrier to the eastern expansion of the Western Desert and is a relict folded mountain range.
  • Earlier, evidence of the origin of life and atmosphere was found from Chitter stones in Jodhpur.

Skill Training Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

  • Rajeevika signed an MOU with Suvarn Path Edutech Ventures for skill training.
  • Rajeevika:
    • Established: October 2010.
    • Purpose: Rural employment development.
    • Chairperson: Chief Minister (standing), Chief Secretary (executive).
    • Brand Ambassador: Ruma Devi (from Barmer).
    • Contributed to the establishment of Mahila Nidhi on August 10, 2022, in collaboration with Stree Nidhi (Telangana).
    • Mahila Nidhi provides financial assistance to Women Self Help Groups, disbursing ₹40,000 within 48 hours at an interest rate of 2.5% (proposed to be 1.5% in the budget).

PM Surya Ghar Yojana and City Accelerator Program

  • Rajasthan cities included in the City Accelerator Program to promote rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana are Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Ajmer.
  • PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana:
    • Central government scheme launched on February 13, 2024.
    • Aim: Install solar panels on 1 crore homes nationwide and provide 300 units of free electricity.
    • Rajasthan's target: 5 lakh homes.
    • Provides a subsidy of ₹78,000 for up to 3 kW solar panels.
  • City Accelerator Program:
    • Aimed at further promoting the PM Surya Ghar scheme.
    • 100 cities selected nationwide, including the four mentioned from Rajasthan.

High-Tech Farming Model Village

  • Kundalpur village in Sikar is a model village practicing high-tech vegetable farming using greenhouse and shednet technology, inspired by Israel.
  • Over 40 greenhouses and shednet facilities are installed, involving over 1500 people in farming.
  • The village generates an annual agricultural produce worth ₹50 crore.
  • Other notable villages:
    • Chaup village: Location of the upcoming Anil Agarwal Cricket Stadium.
    • Menar village: Included as a Ramsar Site (wetland).
    • Piplantri village: Known for planting 111 trees upon the birth of a daughter; a recent documentary was made about the village.

Promotion of Indian Culture and Sports in Qatar

  • Nisha Rajpurohit from Jodhpur was honored by ICC President Jay Shah in Qatar for her work as the Rajasthan Ladies President, promoting Indian culture and the sports community.
