Key Appointments and Education

  • Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University (Bikaner): Dr. Rajendra Babu Dubey appointed as Kulaguru (Vice-Chancellor).
    • Rajasthan Agricultural Universities:
      • Swami Keshwanand A.U. (Bikaner): Rajasthan's first Agricultural University.
      • Jodhpur A.U. (Jodhpur): Awarded "Best Research Institute," features a Constitution Park, publishes "Marudhara" magazine, developed "Jodhpur Jeera One" (cumin) and "Rajgira 0.2" (nutritious grain), houses the Namo Didi Training Center.
      • Kota A.U. (Kota): Agricultural University.
      • Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT, Udaipur): Developed "Chetak" (opium) and "Pratap Shankar Six" (maize) varieties, launched an FM Radio (90.4), hosts Rajasthan's first Fishery and Dairy College.
      • Shri Karan Narendra Agricultural University (Jobner, Jaipur): Houses Rajasthan's second Veterinary University, developed "Karan Shankar Chana" (gram) and "RF 290" (fennel) varieties.
    • Kulaguru Concept: Introduced in Budget 2024-25, replacing "Kulpati" (Vice-Chancellor). First appointment was Akhil Ranjan Garg for Bikaner Technical University.
  • Higher Education and Technology Hub: Triple IT Kota (Indian Institute of Information Technology) will be developed as a Higher Education and Technology Hub.
  • West Zone Regional Conference: National Judicial Academy organized the conference in Jaisalmer on December 13-14, 2025.
    • Organized by Rajasthan High Court and Rajasthan State Judicial Academy (both located in Jodhpur).
    • Rajasthan High Court: Inaugurated on August 29, 1949, by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh. First Chief Justice was Kamal Kant Verma. Current Acting Chief Justice is Sanjeev Prakash Sharma (succeeded K.R. Shriram).
    • Inaugurated by Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant.
  • Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Ordinance 2025: Notification issued on December 18, 2025.
    • Minor Age: Increased from 12 to 14 years for working in shops/establishments.
    • Night Work: Children aged 14-18 years are prohibited from working at night.
    • Daily Work Hours: Increased from 9 to 10 hours.
    • Overtime Limit: Quarterly overtime increased from 125 hours to 144 hours.

Festivals and Environment

  • Kurja Mahotsav 2025: To be held in Khichan village, Phalodi, from December 26-27, 2025.
  • First Center of Excellence for Climate Change Adaptation: To be established in Jagatpura, Jaipur, at a cost of ₹150 crore.
    • Announced in Budget 2024-25, which was termed the "Green Budget."
    • Other Green Budget Initiatives:
      • Harit Aravalli Development Project (₹250 crore).
      • "Waste to Wealth Parks" to be developed at all district headquarters.
      • Annual assistance of ₹5,000 for small and marginal farmers using bullock-based farming.
      • Ghariyal Rearing Center to be established at Pali Ghat, Sawai Madhopur.
      • Leopard Reserve Areas to be developed at Amrak Mahadev Reserve (Udaipur) and Ganga Bhairav Ghati Reserve (Ajmer).

  • Asian Senior Powerlifting Championship (Turkey): Gaurav Sahu (Udaipur) won a gold medal in the 59 kg category.
