Governance & Policy
- 100% Voter Roll Digitalization (SIR)
- Rajasthan became the first state to achieve 100% digitalization of voter rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program.
- SIR was initiated by the Election Commission of India to update voter lists, remove deceased voters, and prevent fraudulent voting.
- The program first started in Bihar.
- Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are responsible for implementing SIR.
- Rajasthan digitized 5.46 crore voter rolls.
- Supreme Court Directive on Women's Reservation in State Bar Councils
- The Supreme Court directed State Bar Councils to implement a 30% reservation for women.
- State Bar Councils were established under the Advocates Act, 1961.
- The Nari Vandan Adhiniyam (106th Constitutional Amendment) provides 1/3rd reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabhas.
- Justice Fatima Bibi was the first female judge of the Supreme Court. Anna Chandy (Kerala) was the first female judge of a High Court, and Leila Seth (Himachal Pradesh) was the first female Chief Justice of a High Court.
- Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) Rules
- Issued by the Government of India.
- Aimed at improving fuel efficiency, especially in the context of competition in the small car market (e.g., between Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors).
- Abhay Brigade (Bihar)
- Launched by Bihar to enhance women's safety, improve public place security, and curb hooliganism.
