Rajasthan Jan Vishwas Ordinance 2025

  • The Rajasthan Cabinet approved the Rajasthan Jan Vishwas Ordinance 2025 on December 3, 2025.

  • The ordinance replaces imprisonment with fines for minor and technical offenses.
  • Criminal penalties have been removed from 11 acts.

    • Rajasthan Forest Act 1953 (e.g., cattle grazing in forests will now incur a fine instead of imprisonment).
    • Industries Assistance Act 1961.
    • Jaipur Water Supply and Sewerage Board Act 2018 (e.g., water misuse or illegal connections will now incur a fine instead of imprisonment).
  • The ordinance is based on the Central Government's Jan Vishwas Act 2023.

New Policies Approved

  • On December 3, 2025, the Rajasthan Cabinet approved three new policies:
    • Pravasi Rajasthani Policy 2025.
    • Rajasthan Trade Promotion Policy 2025.
    • Rajasthan Tourism Policy 2025.

Kumbalgarh Festival

  • The 19th edition of the Kumbalgarh Festival was held in Rajsamand district from December 1 to 3, 2025.
  • Historical Context (of Kumbalgarh Fort):
    • Located on Hemkoot hills.
    • Built by Rana Kumbha.
    • Features a 36 km long wall, the second longest in the world.
