Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department Notification

- Contextual Information on Panchayati Raj:
- Panchayati Raj Day: April 24 (first observed on April 24, 2010).
- Reason for April 24: 73rd Constitutional Amendment (1992) related to Panchayati Raj system was implemented in India on April 24, 1993.
- Implementation in Rajasthan: April 23, 1994.
- Inauguration of Panchayati Raj system in India: October 2, 1959, in Bagdari village, Nagaur, by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Mukhyamantri Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana
- Announcement: Budget 2024-25.
- Initial Aim: Free insurance for 21 lakh livestock.
- Launch: December 13, 2024, at Kisan Sammelan in Kay, Ajmer.
- Budget 2025-26 Updates:
- Number of insured livestock doubled to 42 lakh.
- Insurance is free and on a "first come, first served" basis.
- Insurance Details:
- A Jan Aadhaar cardholder can insure a maximum of two milch animals.
- Cow: 3-12 years old, ₹3000 per kg of milk, maximum ₹40,000.
- Buffalo: 4-12 years old, ₹4000 per kg of milk, maximum ₹40,000.
- Sheep & Goat: 1-6 years old (female), ₹400 per unit (10 animals).
- Camel: 2-15 years old, ₹40,000.
Ancient Civilization Discoveries
- Jhunjhunu: Evidence of a 4500-year-old civilization found in Bansiyal, Jhunjhunu district.
- Bansiyal is part of the Khetri-Bansiyal Leopard Reserve.
- Researchers: Dr. Isha Prasad and Dr. Shweta Sinha.
- Discoveries: Lime powder walls, copper rings, bone tools, and ornaments.
- Other locations: Similar evidence of a 4500-year-old civilization also found in Behaj village (Deeg) and Ratariya ki Dairy (Jaisalmer).
SMAC Center Award 2025
- Professor Neelima Gupta of Rajasthan University's Chemistry Department was awarded the SMAC Center Award 2025.
- The award was presented at the 7th National Workshop on Material Chemistry held in Mumbai.
Legal Awareness and Education Campaigns
- "Nyay Tak" Campaign:
- Launched by the District Legal Services Authority, Jaipur.
- Part of the "Kanoon Connect" initiative, conducted in schools.
- Aims to raise legal awareness and provide free legal aid.
- "Karmabhoomi Se Matrubhoomi Abhiyan" (Water Conservation):
- Launched on January 15, 2025, under the "Catch the Rain" campaign.

Jaigarh Heritage Festival
- The Jaigarh Heritage Festival will be held from December 6-7, 2025.
- Context: Jaigarh Fort, located on the Eagle Hills in Jaipur, is also known as Chil-ka-Teela or Sankat Mochan Durg. It once housed a cannon foundry where the Jai Baan cannon (Asia's largest wheeled cannon) was cast.
Para National Swimming Championship
- The championship was held in Hyderabad from November 15-18, 2025.
- Lakh Singh from Rajasthan won two gold medals and one silver medal.
