  • Volcanic Eruptions:
    • Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano erupted in Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia.

  • Aravalli Hills Mining: The Supreme Court approved a new definition for Aravalli Hills to curb illegal mining.
    • New Definition: Any landform in the Aravalli region that is 100 meters or more higher than the local relief, including its slopes, will be considered part of the Aravalli Hills.
    • The Aravalli range extends from Gujarat to Raisina Hills in Delhi, with Guru Shikhar (Mount Abu, Rajasthan) as its highest peak.
