National Policies & Initiatives

  • Water Conservation Awards: Telangana received the "Best Performing State" award under the 'Jal Sanchay, Jan Bhagidari' (Water Conservation, Public Participation) initiative, presented by President Droupadi Murmu. Maharashtra received Best State for Water Conservation in the 6th National Water Awards.
  • Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign): Launched on August 15, 2020, this 5-year campaign will conclude in 2025 with a closing ceremony at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab.
  • India achieved the target of 20% ethanol blending in petrol five years ahead of schedule.

  • Under Water Lab: India plans to develop the world's deepest underwater lab at 6000 meters depth.

  • National Science Museum Council Award: The "On The Edge" climate change gallery of the National Science Museum Council (Kolkata) received the prestigious CIMUSET Award, declared at a conference in Dubai.
  • Blue Flag Certification: Sonapur beach (Ganjam district) and Puri's Golden Beach (Odisha) re-received the Blue Flag certification, with Puri's Golden Beach receiving it for the 7th time. The certification is awarded by the Foundation of Environment Education (FEE), Denmark.
